Hyderabad, May 16, 2023 - Yeshoda, the mother of Nanditha Veerlapally, an aspiring international chess prodigy, expresses her profound appreciation to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for his unwavering support and encouragement in her daughter's remarkable journey in the realm of chess. Recently, Yeshoda had the privilege of meeting with K. Kavitha, a distinguished Member of Parliament, to discuss the obstacles they were confronting. Chief Minister KCR, in a display of benevolence, consented to provide financial backing via a Chief Minister's note. Yeshoda extends her deep gratitude to IFS Bhupal Reddy, the Special Chief Secretary to the CM, MLC Kavitha, and Chief Minister KCR for their pivotal roles in allocating a substantial sum of ₹50 lakhs for Nanditha's training and participation in tournaments. Bolstered by this significant support, Yeshoda firmly believes that her daughter will soon attain the prestigious title of Grand Master in the game of chess. Currently in her second year of B.Com(Computers) studies at Villa Marie Degree College in Somajiguda, Nanditha Veerlapally has already made impressive strides in her chess career. The World Chess Federation (FIDE) acknowledged her as a Woman Candidate Master (WCM) in 2020, and she has attained a peak FIDE rating of 1828. Nanditha's tournament track record is equally remarkable, with her involvement in numerous state, national, and international competitions. At the state level, she has participated in 40 tournaments, securing a remarkable tally of 19 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal. Additionally, she has represented India in 18 national-level tournaments, where she claimed a bronze medal in the National U-15 category in 2018. Nanditha's commitment has also led her to participate in 40 rating tournaments and 5 International Grandmasters (GM) tournaments held in Odisha, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Delhi, and Dubai. Her talent has transcended borders, as she has proudly represented India in various global championships. Noteworthy achievements include a commendable 6th place finish in the World U-11 Chess Championship in Brazil (2014), a notable 9th place finish in the World U-13 Chess Championship in Thailand (2015), and an impressive 14th place finish in the World U-15 Chess Championship in Russia (2016). Furthermore, Nanditha has taken part in the World Youth Chess Championship held in Mumbai in 2019. Nanditha's exceptional skills have also shone in the Commonwealth Chess Championships, where she has achieved notable rankings such as 6th place in the Commonwealth U-14 Chess Championship in New Delhi (2015), 7th place in the Commonwealth U-16 Chess Championship in New Delhi (2018), and a silver medal in the Asian U-17 Chess Championship in Sri Lanka (2018). Furthermore, Nanditha's prowess extends to the Asian level, with commendable performances in various age categories. Her noteworthy accomplishments include a commendable 5th place finish in the Asian U-13 Chess Championship in Singapore (2015), a silver medal in the Asian U-17 Chess Championship in Sri Lanka (2018), and participation in several other age divisions. The unwavering support from Yeshoda, combined with the invaluable assistance from the government, has ignited Nanditha's ambitions within the realm of chess.
